NCDR builds up partnership with domestic and international institutes to integrate interdisciplinary capacity, observe the dynamic evolutions of natural disasters and catch the global trend of disaster risk reduction. NCDR keeps close collaborations with partners to synergize joint efforts on reducing adverse impacts brought by natural disasters such as typhoons, floods and earthquakes. Furthermore, in order to accommodate demands of changing social structure, climate change adaptation, compound-type disasters, social-economic issues, information-based decision support, administrative policy suggestions and international collaborations, NCDR takes the topics mentioned above as major tasks under daily operations.
These outcomes are able to assist in formulating policies that enhance the society’s capacity to reduce disaster risks. Additionally, through collaborations with domestic and international partners, NCDR has been endeavoring to identify potential demands of disaster reduction, enhance capacity building at different levels of governments, provide assistances during emergency, raise public awareness by promoting community-based disaster risk management, and provide help for education program on disaster risk reduction. The progressive outcomes have been gradually improving the social disaster resilience through participation by all actors and stakeholders.
