2021 Global Cooperation and Training Framework Seminar“Building the Resilience of Nations and Communities to Disasters”
National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR) under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, American Institute in Taiwan (AIT/T), and British Office Taipei co-host the 2021 Global Cooperation and Training Framework Seminar“Building the Resilience of Nations and Communities to Disasters”on 10 March. Deputy Minister Minn-Tsong Lin, Minister Jaushieh Joseph Wu, Chief Representative IZUMI Hiroyasu, Director William Brent Christensen, and Representative John Dennis delivered the remarks.
In addition to sharing the experience of disaster resilience of Taiwan, the United States, Japan and Britain, this conference also jointly commemorated the 10th anniversary of the Tohoku (311) earthquake in Japan.
Meanwhile, there were various countries’ envoys in Taiwan attended this event physically, including the Ambassadors of Saint Christopher and Nevis, Tuvalu, Guatemala and Nauru, and the Officials from Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Poland, South Africa, Nigeria, Vietnam, Israel, as well as the NGO groups, and a number of experts and scholars. At the same time, about 110 officials and DRR experts from 35 countries including Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Israel, and Thailand participated online.
