Planning Division

Background

The planning division assists the NCDR in designing short-term, mid-term and long-term operation strategies, provides proposals for future prospects and coordinates between the internal professional divisions. In addition, the planning division aids the NCDR in promoting large-scale disaster-prevention technology plans; strengthening partnerships between government departments, educational institutions, and private disaster-prevention organizations; and promoting disaster-prevention technology implementation.

 

Primary Tasks

  1. Project planning, examining, controlling and measuring
  2. Annual project performance evaluation and management
  3. Project managing operation rules and procedures establishing
  4. Cooperative relationship establishing with domestic disaster prevention entities
  5. Staff training program planning and promoting
  6. Visual identity design and publicity management to convey the concept and strengthen the professional image of the NCDR
  7. Events and conferences planning and executing for promoting visibility of the NCDR
  8. Library management and new knowledge providing for disaster reduction research and development enhancement

 

Future Work

The planning division acts as a steersman for scientific research and technological development of the NCDR. The main tasks are to assist in holistic planning, facilitate projects, and conduct performance management and evaluation of scientific researches for disaster reduction. 

Looking to the future, in consideration of changes in disaster situation, government mandates for disaster reduction, and implementation of scientific research applications, the planning division will aim to carry the spirits of  "being agile, proactive, and initiative" to assist the NCDR to keenly observe the trend of disaster risk reduction to create an operation blueprint, proactively learn from experiences to enrich the capabilities, and actively promote interdisciplinary research outcomes to broaden disaster risk knowledge horizons.
